THE CHARACTER OF STONE

Applications

Floors, wall cladding and landscape features.

What is Melly Grey?

Melly Grey belongs to the Egyptian grey limestone trade family. A listing published under Marmojet identifies its product as grey limestone blocks from Egypt. Commercial spellings vary, while the company’s collection, photographs and requested sample establish the material selection for a particular enquiry.

Different readings of the same surface

Marmojet presents Melly Grey for floors, wall cladding and landscape features, supported by a broad original-photo collection. The range lets a designer compare honed surfaces with chiseled or split-face treatments, or discuss the rhythm of linear tiles and cubes. Selection begins with the intended function and visual result.

Coordinating different project elements

When coordinating a wall and floor from a related selection, review finish samples together instead of approving each in isolation. Discuss colour, edges, sizes and installation sequence to establish the relationship between the elements. A photographed form should not automatically be treated as suitable for every location or service condition.

MARMOJET / MATERIAL KNOWLEDGE

Your questions, answered.

Which forms are displayed?

The current collection includes bush-hammered, point-chiseled, split-face, linear, cube, antique, honed and sandblasted forms. Confirm availability when ordering.

Are Melly, Milly and Milli market spellings?

Several spellings occur in the trade. Melly Grey remains the main site label; a sample match is needed before treating another name as an equivalent product.

Care & maintenance

For calcareous stone, use a mild non-acidic cleaner, remove spills promptly and keep floor grit under control. Avoid vinegar, lemon and acidic cleaners. Specify a sealer where needed for the stone and finish; it does not make stone acid-proof. Use a specialist for installation or restoration.
