THE CHARACTER OF STONE

Applications

Floors, walls and stairs.

What is Galala stone?

Galala is an Egyptian limestone associated with the Galala mountain area in Suez and also traded as Galala marble. The family is known for cream and light beige colours, with differences between selections. The general name alone does not establish the precise shade or grade of a supplied batch.

A light palette for floors and walls

Marmojet lists floors, walls and stairs among the applications. In a design scheme, a light stone can anchor a restrained palette, while a polished piece beside a more textured sample introduces a deliberate surface contrast. Specify the finish for each location: not every form shown in the gallery is a flooring product.

From surfaces to corner details

The current collection brings together polished, bush-hammered, chiseled, split and antique appearances, as well as an L-corner profile. When planning a clad wall, reviewing a corner piece alongside the surface sample helps establish the intended junction. Joint and fixing details should be reviewed with the project installer.

MARMOJET / MATERIAL KNOWLEDGE

Your questions, answered.

Is Galala marble or limestone?

Galala marble is a common commercial name, while the references used here identify the family as limestone. A specific batch should be identified through its own technical documentation.

Which forms does Marmojet show?

The site shows polished, textured, chiseled and antique samples plus an L-corner profile. Each form can be reviewed through its original photograph before enquiring.

Care & maintenance

For calcareous stone, use a mild non-acidic cleaner, remove spills promptly and keep floor grit under control. Avoid vinegar, lemon and acidic cleaners. Specify a sealer where needed for the stone and finish; it does not make stone acid-proof. Use a specialist for installation or restoration.
